About

A black and white photo of a light-skinned man with glasses, a beard, and short hair, sitting indoors. He's wearing a scarf and a sweater. Above him, there's a potted plant with hanging leaves attached to the ceiling. To his right, there's a desk or table with a closed laptop on it.

I am Ailbe Collins — an architectural and construction photographer based in Dublin, working across Ireland, the UK, and internationally.

For over thirteen years I have documented commercial fit-outs, construction projects, and architectural completions for some of Ireland's leading contractors and fit-out specialists. My clients include Sisk, Connect Construct, FKM Group, SLMD, Cosentino Ireland, NorDan Ireland, Gilead Sciences, and The Canbe Group.

I am an IAA-licensed commercial drone operator, which means I provide aerial and ground-level photography and videography in a single site visit — no subcontracting, no scheduling complexity, full airspace compliance.

I am President of the Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association (IPPVA) and a member of the Federation of European Photographers. I carry public liability insurance to a minimum of €6.5 million.

WHY I WORK THE WAY I DO

Most construction and fit-out companies I speak to have the same experience of photography: a generalist called in at the end of a project, images that look fine but don't serve a commercial purpose, and a portfolio that doesn't reflect the real quality of their work.

The companies I work with on a retainer basis have a different experience. They have a consistent visual record of every project. Their tender submissions look professional. Their LinkedIn posts generate enquiries. Their award entries are competitive.

That outcome is only possible with a photographer who understands construction — who knows what a CAT B fit-out looks like at completion, who can work around site constraints, and who understands what a tender evaluator or an awards judge is looking for.

That is what I do.
